Jie Song, MD
Dr. Song is a highly experienced dermatopathologist and pathologist with 15 years of experience in dermatopathology and general pathology. He is triple board certified in dermatopathology, anatomic pathology, and clinical pathology, bringing a broad and highly specialized diagnostic perspective to the evaluation of skin biopsies and complex dermatologic conditions.
Before moving to the United States, Dr. Song practiced clinical dermatology in China, giving him a unique foundation that bridges direct patient care, dermatology, and dermatopathology. This clinical background allows him to approach dermatopathology with a deep understanding of how microscopic findings correlate with real-world dermatologic disease and patient presentation.
Dr. Song completed his pathology residency and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Chicago, one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers. In addition to his medical training, he earned a Master of Science in Biochemistry from Baylor College of Medicine and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Rice University, reflecting his strong academic foundation and multidisciplinary expertise.
Dr. Song has contributed extensively to the fields of pathology and dermatology. He has co-authored three pathology and dermatology textbooks and has published dozens of articles in scientific journals. His academic accomplishments, broad diagnostic experience, and background in both clinical dermatology and pathology make him a valuable part of Basko Dermatology’s commitment to accurate diagnosis, high-quality dermatologic care, and clinical excellence.
